No automatic uploads
Explicit permission-based access

1. Overview

EdgeCam Pro – Smart Browser Video Recorder (“EdgeCam Pro”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) provides browser-based video recording features for Microsoft Edge and compatible browsers.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension can access, how recordings are stored, and how your data is handled.

2. What We Access

EdgeCam Pro only accesses data and devices that are necessary for the features you explicitly use.

  • Your screen, tab, or application window for screen recording
  • Your webcam, if webcam recording is enabled
  • Your microphone, if microphone recording is enabled
  • System or tab audio, if selected by you
  • Basic page information such as URL or title when needed for bug reporting or title suggestions

3. Local Storage of Recordings

By default, recordings and related metadata are stored locally within your browser profile using browser storage technologies such as IndexedDB and extension storage.

Your video recordings are not automatically uploaded to any remote server.

4. Uploads and Sharing

EdgeCam Pro only uploads or shares content when you explicitly request it.

If optional cloud upload or public sharing features are made available, they will only be triggered after a clear user action.

5. Browser Permissions

EdgeCam Pro may request browser permissions such as:

  • desktopCapture – used to record your screen, tab, or window
  • tabs / activeTab – used to detect the current page for recording actions
  • storage – used to save settings and local metadata
  • downloads – used so you can download your own recordings
  • scripting – used to inject the recording controls into pages
These permissions are used strictly to provide the extension’s intended recording features.

6. Data Collection

EdgeCam Pro does not sell your personal data and does not use your recordings for advertising.

We do not automatically collect the content of your recordings, webcam feed, microphone feed, or browsing content on external servers.

7. Bug Report Mode

If Bug Report Mode is enabled, the extension may collect additional diagnostic information locally, including console errors, browser version, page URL, and timestamps.

This information remains local unless you export or share it.

8. Third-Party Integrations

If integrations such as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or YouTube are used in the future, those services will operate under their own privacy policies and terms.

You are responsible for reviewing and accepting those third-party terms before use.

9. Security

We aim to keep locally stored recordings and configuration data protected within the browser environment. However, you are responsible for the security of your device, user account, and browser profile.

If multiple people use the same browser profile on the same device, recordings stored locally may be accessible to them.

10. Children’s Privacy

EdgeCam Pro is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If updates are made, the revised version will be published on this page.
